The Graduate Certificate in Sport Coaching is a six month full time or up to four years part time qualification. It is offered as an on-line, flexible learning option enabling students to fit Sport Coaching studies around their busy professional and personal lives. The GradCertSpC will provide practicing coaches and those employed in the sports industry the opportunity to develop their professional coaching skills. The GradCertSpC is also available to students who are not currently employed in the industry, but wish to develop skills and competencies to gain employment in Performance Sports Coaching contexts.
The Graduate Diploma in Arts offers people who already hold a bachelor's degree (such as a BCom, BFA or BSc) an opportunity to study arts in-depth. It is designed to provide a qualification for graduates seeking to qualify for entry to postgraduate qualifications in Arts, or to extend or upgrade their existing qualifications.
The Graduate Diploma in Science (GradDipSc) offers people who already hold a bachelor's degree (such as a BA, BCom, BFA or BSc) an opportunity to study science in depth. It is designed to provide a qualification for graduates seeking to qualify for entry to postgraduate qualifications in Science, or to extend or upgrade their existing qualifications. A GradDipSc will extend your knowledge in multiple interest areas, satisfying many questions you may have about the world and encourage you to investigate even further.
If you already have a Bachelor degree (with study to 300 level in a NZ school curriculum subject as well as an additional teaching subject) you can enrol in the one-year (Feb-Nov) Graduate Diploma in Teaching and Learning (Secondary). This programme can be undertaken full-time or part-time on campus in Christchurch. This option is suited to those looking for a well-respected pathway to teaching, including practica in schools and research-based coursework. It is the recommended pathway for International students and caters to the full range of Secondary teaching subjects.
Health related teaching subjects include Health Education, Outdoor and Environmental Education and Physical Education.
